About Isabelle’s Golden Tappers
Isabelle’s Golden Tappers demonstrate how age-ism just doesn’t apply to tap dancing. This extraordinary troupe of energetic senior female tappers, aged from 50 to mid 70’s came together in 1990. They all started tapping as adult beginners just wanting a fun way to get some exercise.
The Golden Tappers have performed at a myriad of places around Melbourne, including Hamer Hall, the National Theatre, the Forum Theatre, Collingwood Football Club……to name a few. They also perform at many nursing homes and for various charity organisations. Any money they earn from their gigs is donated back to the Peter McCallum Institute.
In the mid 90s the girls were invited over to the United States of America to perform with the Rainbow Band, doing performances in both Los Angeles and San Francisco.
